Jeff Frank

Jeff Frank farms near Auburn in Sac County, Iowa and serves as the treasurer for the Iowa Soybean Association (ISA) Board of Directors. He grows soybeans and corn with his youngest son and has been farming for more than 40 years. 

A strong proponent of accurate data, Frank utilizes grid sampling, soil mapping and variable rate inputs on his land to achieve the highest yield for the lowest inputs each year.  

Adding value to his land and ecosystem, Frank also dedicates land to pollinator habitat, a waterway and multiple buffer strips. 

Frank feels strongly in using the right data and the right equipment to plant in the most optimal way, as that is what leads to the most successful growing season and harvest. He values consistency and adaptation to grow his crops. 

Not one to sit on the sidelines, Frank traveled as the only Iowa farmer to a trade mission to Indonesia. He valued this opportunity where he saw up close how the country uses and needs U.S. soy. Frank also values the toil ISA directors put into leading the association, including budgeting during hard times and producing a strategic plan farmers of the future can lean on. 

A longtime leader, Frank is also involved in the Sac County Farm Bureau and served as his local Farm Service Agency president for nine years. He also completed the Soy Leadership Academy and serves as an elder at his church. He and his wife, Ellen, have three children.
