Tom Adam

Secretary, District 9

Tom Adam farms near Harper in Keokuk County, Iowa and serves on executive committee for the Iowa Soybean Association Board of Directors as the secretary. He grows soybeans, corn, wheat, oats, hay and produces beef cattle.

Adam has farmed for 37 years and implements no-till, waterways, terraces, cover crops and enrolls land in the Conservation Reserve Program. He also practices alternative crop rotations by growing wheat and hay after his soybeans and corn.

Passionate about providing a safe, bountiful food supply, Adam works tirelessly to farm both economically and sustainably. He feels strongly about securing the next generation of farmers a place to start and thrive.

During his leadership at ISA, Adam has become involved in the Soy Acquaculture Alliance, where he works to increase soybean demand by expanding the fish industry. He is proud of the work ISA does to improve both domestic and global demand for Iowa soybeans.

A graduate of the University of Iowa with a degree in finance, Adam also serves as township trustee in his county and manages the finances of multiple church cemeteries. He and his wife, Mary Beth, have four children.
